ISIL militants attack university students in Al-Raqqa

(Al-Raqqa) Members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) broke into the cafeteria of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in the Ephrates University during working hours, yesterday. The militants stormed the café, and smashed the kitchen equipment, utensils, and tableware.

Furthermore, ISIL members verbally insulted the students, leading the angry crowd to hold a protest on campus against the Islamic State's recurring abuses. Pro-freedom slogans were chanted in addition to demands for ISIL to halt its aggression. Protesters also accused ISIL members of resembling Syrian regime militiamen, known as Shabbiha, in their behavior.

The militants responded by threatening the demonstrating students and pointing their rifles towards them, causing the group to disperse.
